A full drilling rig move to Saudi Arabia required onsite assessment, a dedicated packaging crew, tracked documentation of all parts and equipment, and standby coverage across Alberta to meet a firm ship date.
A rig move to Saudi Arabia meant coordinating crating, poly wrapping, and skidding across an active dismantling operation, with a firm ship date that couldn't move. Spare parts and equipment were spread across multiple locations in Alberta. Everything had to be accounted for, protected, and ready to load — on time, documented, and export-ready.
There was no margin for a missed piece or a packaging gap that held up port loading.
Full onsite assessment
CCC began with a complete onsite assessment to identify all crating, poly wrapping, and skidding requirements before work started. This gave the client a clear packaging plan ahead of the dismantling sequence, so nothing was improvised under pressure.
Dedicated onsite crew — start to finish
A dedicated CCC crew was onsite through the full duration of the project. As rig components were dismantled and cleared, the crew moved in immediately; poly wrapping, crating, and skidding each piece according to its export requirements. Keeping the same crew on-site from start to finish meant no handoff gaps and consistent handling standards throughout.
Parts tracking and documentation
All spare parts and equipment were tracked and documented before being secured in pre-built crates. For an international export of this scale, documentation isn't an afterthought, it's what prevents delays at customs and ensures everything that left Alberta arrives in Saudi Arabia accounted for. Once complete, CCC provided the client with a detailed inventory of 30+ crates, including each crate’s contents, photos, and serial numbers.
Standby crew across Alberta
Any rush equipment located elsewhere in Alberta that needed to be packaged before the ship date was covered by a CCC standby crew. This meant the client didn't have to manage a separate packaging vendor for outlying equipment. CCC absorbed that coordination.
Transport loading support
CCC was onsite at loading to provide poly wrapping, pony walls, and blocking as the rig was loaded onto trucks for transport to port. Packaging continued right up to the point of departure, not just at the crating stage.
Seven tractor-trailer loads of rig components, crates, and spare parts — packaged, documented, and loaded on schedule across a two-week operation. The client made their port loading date. The rig arrived in Saudi Arabia on time and accounted for.

Relocating a chocolate production facility isn't a straightforward crating job. The equipment is sensitive, the production environment has food-safety implications, and the crates needed to protect everything during transport, storage and shipping to new location.

Whether you need a single crate built tomorrow or a standardized program supporting hundreds of shipments per month, CCC scales to match your operation. Our systems, documentation, and shop-trained team ensure every shipment is built to spec, no matter how often you order.
